Aljoa Savchenko and Bruno Massot won Olympic gold in 2018. Born in Ukraine in 1984, Savchenko started ice skating at the age of three. Bruno Massot is born in 1989 in France and was French national champion of 2012.

Katarina Witt: 1984, 1988

Katarina Witt was East Germanys face of figure skating. In 1984 and 1988, the multiple world and European champion won Olympic gold in Sarajevo and Calgary. Born in 1965, Katarina Witt started ice skating at the age of five.

Anett Pötzsch: 1980

Anett Pötzsch was a famous figure skater of the former DDR (East Germany).

She ended her career after the winter of 1980 when she won three international titles (Olympic Winter Games, World Championships and European Championships). Her reasons why she took this step were knee problems, lack of motivation and the fear of losing everything.

Manfred Schnelldorfer: 1964

Manfred Schnelldorfer was born in 1943 in Germany. The son of famous figure skating coaches also worked as musician, actor and as the first national coach for figure skating.

Ria Falk & Paul Falk: 1952

Ria (born in 1922) & Paul Falk (born in 1921) were a very famous German figure skating pair. The two were also active in roller skating and received the title as World Champions in 1951.
